Oxygen Activeplay- a multi-site holiday camp rollout for FECs.

We designed a ready-to-run holiday camp experience and trained Oxygen teams to deliver it safely, inclusively and consistently - building a scalable offer for an indoor activity park network.

Results

  • Launched Summer 2023 with an initial pilot at Oxygen Acton

  • Rollout training delivered to additional sites including York, Derby and Rayleigh

  • Holiday Camp Product built for ages 8-12, aligned to Oxygen’s brand: fun, safety, inclusivity

  • Delivered a custom 2-day Kids Activator training course (with assessment) to upskill park staff for camp delivery

  • Developed a second, implementation-ready Holiday Club product for ages 5-7, including Ofsted registration guidance plus policies and procedures (not ultimately piloted due to shifting business priorities as the company scaled)

The Brief

Oxygen Activeplay is a leading operator in the UK indoor activity park space.

They partnered with Kidztivity to introduce an innovative holiday camp experience designed specifically for children aged 8-12, built to run inside their parks during school holidays.

The Product needed to:

  • Fit the reality of an indoor activity park environment (multiple zones, high energy, safety-critical)

  • Be structured and engaging (not “just supervised free play”)

  • Be deliverable by Oxygen’s own teams with confidence

  • Launch quickly for Summer 2023, with a clear pathway to rollout across sites

The Challenge

Holiday camps inside activity parks come with a unique delivery challenge:

  • Keeping children engaged and progressing (not drifting between zones)

  • Maintaining safety and control while preserving fun and energy

  • Delivering consistency across different sites and staff teams

  • Creating a camp identity that feels distinct and premium - without overcomplicating operations

Oxygen needed a programme that was operationally realistic, brand-aligned, and scalable.

What We Did

Design

We designed a holiday camp experience that blended:

  • Physical activity, games and challenges

  • Social connection and confidence building

  • Structured delivery that still feels “adventure-led” (not school-like)

Build

We developed a ready-to-implement camp product for ages 8-12, with:

  • Age-appropriate programming and activity planning

  • A delivery flow that works across different park layouts

  • Inclusivity baked in (adaptations and options that keep more children successfully involved)

Deliver

To ensure the programme could be delivered safely and consistently, we delivered a custom 2-day Kids Activator course for Oxygen’s team, covering:

  • Child engagement and group management

  • Safety protocols and risk-aware delivery

  • Activity planning and age-appropriate programming

  • Practical delivery, with an assessment to confirm readiness

We supported a clear pilot-to-rollout pathway:

  • Pilot site: Oxygen Acton

  • Rollout training: York, Derby and Rayleigh (to enable wider network access)

Extend

Following the initial work, we developed an additional Holiday Club product for ages 5-7 that was implementation-ready, including:

  • Ofsted registration guidance

  • Supporting policies and procedures

This wasn’t ultimately piloted, as Oxygen’s focus shifted while scaling new sites - however the product and compliance framework were in place.

Why It Worked

  • Built for the environment: designed specifically for indoor activity parks, not copied from a sports hall model

  • Training-led rollout: upskilling Oxygen’s teams created consistency across sites

  • Brand-aligned experience: fun, safe and inclusive - without operational complexity

  • Scalable approach: pilot → rollout training → repeatable delivery standards
